The New York Mets released Adbert Alzolay from their organization on Wednesday.
Alzolay did not appear in a game for the Mets.
He had gone 1-1 with a 7.36 ERA in 14 Minor League games.
The Mets lost to the Toronto Blue Jays 9-3 on July 1.
Adbert Alzolay spent all six seasons of his MLB career with the Chicago Cubs.
He went 2-5 with a 2.67 ERA in 58 games during the 2023 season.
Over 121 career MLB games, the 31-year-old has gone 12-25 with a 4.04 ERA.
The New York Mets are 14th in the National League with a 36-51 record, on a L1 streak.
They will visit the Atlanta Braves on Friday night.
The Mets have gone 2-8 over their last ten games.
And they are 17-27 in 44 games on the road.
It will be interesting to see if another team picks up Adbert Alzolay before the end of the 2026 season.
He could be a good addition to an organization in need of pitching depth.
Ben Yoel wrote that Alzolay tossed two scoreless innings for Syracuse.
