The New York Mets released Grae Kessinger, the grandson of MLB legend Don Kessinger, from their organization during their series with the Braves.
Kessinger had been batting .242 with eight hits, one home run and 12 RBIs in 17 Triple-A games for the Syracuse Mets.
The 28-year-old infielder signed a Minor League deal with the Mets over the offseason and was invited to spring training.

Grae Kessinger had spent part of two seasons in the MLB with the Houston Astros, batting .131 with eight hits, one home run, one RBI and seven runs.
